48 Hours....After the Turkey!

Well, I made it through my birthday, two family christmas dinners and a whole lot of tired kids...

I never really got to create a lot of things over the holidays....and what I did create I forgot to take pictures of....

I found a template for a really cute purse that can hold 16 3 x 3 cards and envelopes....My fiance created that for our neice and she loved it. I put in a little stamp set, stamp pad and the card bases for 5 3 x 3 cards. I also included a bit of glittery ribbon for her to make some really cute cards.

I found a template as well for gift card gifttag and made two of them for out niece and nephew...I think I liked them more...will definately be making more of those....I thought they were really cute.

Tonight I will be trying to catch up on my planning for the card swap I joined. I found the swap on Rig Red Scraps. For anyone  who doesn't know what this site is it is a site for CTMH crafts and people who love to use CTMH products. http://bigredscraps.ning.com/

Please feel free to join me on there. I hope to make my 4 Thank You cards tonight as the extra card will be going to a good cause. I will try to blog about them tomorrow and include pictures.

Two Special Christmas Cards

Well I was asked to create two special cards for a couples loved ones....I wanted to use all CTMH and I wanted it to fit with the couples style so I chose the Mistletoe Level 2 Paper (X7130B) I used two patterns out of the Originals Card Confidence Program (9032) Each one of these cards is a 5" x 7" card. The one abouve used Tag Trio pattern and was a great card to try my hand at using more layers and distressing techniques and different brads. I used the My Acrylix All The Best Stamp Set, Mistletoe Level 2 Assortment(Z1330), Cranberry Exclusive Ink(Z2116), and Chocolate Exclusive Ink(Z2111) I made a slight mis-stamp on the inside but I figues it adds character and that handstamped touch....Frankly...it was a total  mistake!

On this one I used another pattern from the Originals book and also tried a few distressing techniques on this one as well. I used the Mistletoe Level 2 Paper(X7130B) for this card. The stamp Set used for this card is the Peace On Earth (D1243) I used Cranberry Exclusivve Ink (Z2116) and New England Ivy Exclusive Ink(Z2135) THe brads used to anchor the front layer are from the Mini Medley Accents Shades of Chocolate Collection. The ribon and little gem for bling factor are not CTMH.

Hope that these are well liked as I have been tryibng to expand my comfort level and learn new techniques too!

 Merry Christmas!

A Bookworms' Dream!

Well I am busy preparing for my upcoming Christmas....Birthdays.....and my Mother/Daughter Nite. We will be making a Bookmark using the new CTMH Wings products due out in Feb. 2011 I decided to try out this bookmark and make a sample but this being me I know no portion control.....Have to ask the family....I cook for an army...LOL! Anywways I decided that if I was going to make a sample I might as well make a bunch of them with a friends theme. I figured they could be used for a Birthday Card and given in pairs. Or you could use them for invitations.

I have used a variety of different papers to add interest and to experiment with different options and placement of them. I used a stamp from my CTMH Heart to Heart Stamp Set included in the Magnifique Workshop Kit (G1015) I also used a stamp from my CTMH It's Your Day Stamp Set (D1352) I used a few of my CTMH Exclusive Inks - Black (Z2105), Lagoon (Z2195), and Pear (Z2197). On the presents I also used some clear glitter glue to add a little subtle sparkle.

RECIPE
2 1/2" x 6 1/2" Cardstock
2 1/4" x 6 1/4" Cardstock
2" x 6" Cardstock
2" x 2" Cardstock
2 1/2" x 1" Cardstock
3" x 1/4" Cardstock

  • Stamp "Friends 4Ever" with Black Ink on 2" x 6" Cardstock
  • Stamp Present wth Pear and Lagoon Inks on the 2" x 2" Cardstock. Trim image.
  • Assemble top layer of Bookmark, fold 3" x 1/4" Cardstock in half, trim edges at an angle and secure with a button brad.
  • Attach present.
  • Attach finished piece to 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" Cardstock
Well hope you like this activity and have fun crafting!

CTMH Workshop On The Go Card

Well here is my attempt to include a recipe for my card that I created last night. For some rason I seem to have a hard time just doing one card....This is one of the 3 pairs that I created last night. I will try to include the other two pairs with recipes as well.

Using my Mistletoe Workshop On The Go (G1014) and the enclosed guide I created this card. I used  a Chocolate CS as the base and a couple different B & T Duos papers for my accent stripes. Using the All The Best Stamp Set (which is included with the kit) I stamped the ornament accent with Cranberry Exclusive Ink (Z2116) and then rock 'n' rolled with Chocolate Exclusive Ink (Z2111) For the All the Best stamped image I Stamped the words with the Chocolate and for flourish I used same technique as for ornament. I attached a Mistletoe Level 2 Assortment embossed brad (Z1330)  I finished up using a pearlecent silver paint for added embellishment to finish the card off.

And The Race Is On!

Well now that my start up kit has arrived and the next day my product arrived...I have been off and creating!

I will include some of my new works that I worked on last night!

Happy Birthday!
Here is a birthday card that I created. It features stamps from CTMH as well as some of their Exclusive Inks. Inside the card it says Shh, it's a secret with a present stamped near the corner. The dots are all covered with a white glitter embossing powder and heated.

This next one is a favorite!
I was trying to experiment with heat embossing. These stamps are CTMH as well as the inks. I have been trying to create some more simple and elegant cards with large appeal. I welcome any comments and tips.

So for now this is my post...
I will include some more artwork later!

Happy Creating!

My CTMH Starting.....DELAYED!!!!

I am a new consultant for Close To My Heart. I had a Halloween gathring and was hooked....LOL! Well,  I admit I am not the most patient person so here I sit still waiting. I being from Canada never thought about the lucky Americans who get two days off for Thanksgiving....well, signing up before Thanksgiving adds a two day delay...Getting a link to track your packages is torture....I have been waiting and watching (Several times per day I might add....LOL) Well I called the Company on Friday...'You're package will be there Monday or Tuesday...' It is Tuesday.....wake up to no package and being so eager to get my supplies I was terribly disappointed to find an estimated delivery of Thursday.....

Needless to say...

Christmas will come early for me....

Two deliveries expected on THursday and again on Friday.....

Hope they get here safe and sound....

I want to get some more cards stamped and started....

The Beginning....

Well here goes nothing...

I am going to start out by letting everyone know that I am starting a blog to share my new found joy in scrapbooking and card making. Throughout my blogging I will include picture of my work and a recipe to recreate the item.

I am new to this world and would love to make some great new contacts who also share an interest in card making and scrapbooking. I look forwards to reading blogs of interest and would appreciate any suggestions.

Being a mother of 3 I may be a blogger of few words at times but hope to add interest with the inclusion of my ongoing items that I am working on.

Well....
   ....Happy reading!
